Rummikub is a classic tile-based game that combines elements of rummy and Mahjong, offering an exciting and strategic gameplay experience for players of all ages. The goal is simple: be the first to place all your tiles on the board by creating runs and sets. In Rummikub, players start with a hand of tiles and take turns placing them on the table by forming valid combinations. You can form sets (groups of the same number in different colors) or runs (consecutive numbers in the same color). Set Up the Game: Each player starts with 14 tiles from the pool. The remaining tiles are placed face down in the center as the "draw pile." Players will take turns building combinations with the tiles in their hand and the tiles on the table. Create Sets and Runs: To play a tile, you must place it in a valid combination. Set: A group of tiles with the same number but different colors (e.g., 5, 5, 5 in different colors). Run: A sequence of consecutive numbers in the same color (e.g., 3, 4, 5 in red). You can create new sets or runs or modify existing ones by adding tiles from your hand. Take Turns: On each turn, you can either play a combination of tiles from your hand or draw a tile from the pile if you cannot make a valid move. If you draw a tile, your turn ends. Manipulate Existing Combinations: An important strategic element of Rummikub is that you can rearrange tiles already on the table to form new combinations. This allows for greater flexibility in finding new ways to play your tiles. Jokers and Wild Tiles: Rummikub includes joker tiles that can stand in for any other tile. Use them strategically to complete a combination or manipulate the game board to your advantage. However, if a joker is placed, it must eventually be replaced with a valid tile by the player who uses it. Endgame and Winning: The game ends when a player places all their tiles on the board, at which point they are declared the winner. Players tally up the points based on the remaining tiles in their hands. If no one can play a tile, the game ends in a draw.
