Alternatively, you can visit the Navionics website to explore available plans and options for desktop usage. Create an Account or Log In: If you're new to Navionics® Boating, sign up for an account by entering your email address and creating a password. If you already have an account, simply log in to access your saved routes, maps, and preferences. Select Your Region or Map: Once logged in, you can select your preferred location or marine area. The app offers detailed charts for a wide range of regions, including coastal, lake, and river maps. You can search for specific lakes, rivers, marinas, or coastal areas that you plan to navigate. Browse and Download Nautical Charts: Navionics® Boating offers both free and premium maps. Choose the map pack that best fits your needs. The premium charts offer more detailed coverage and real-time updates. Download charts for offline use so you can access them even when you’re not connected to the internet. Use GPS and Navigation Tools: Activate the GPS feature to track your current location on the map in real time. The app uses your smartphone’s GPS to show your position on the water. The app includes auto-routing that calculates the best routes for your boat, helping you avoid obstacles and navigate through safe paths. Plan Your Route: Navionics® Boating allows you to plan routes by selecting start and end points on the map. The app will provide turn-by-turn navigation and estimated travel time. You can add waypoints along your route, such as marinas, fishing spots, or other points of interest. Explore Depth Contours and Bathymetric Maps: Use the depth contour maps to see the underwater terrain, which is especially useful for fishing or navigating shallow waters. Navionics® Boating provides bathymetric charts that show the contours of the lake or ocean floor, helping you avoid shallow spots or submerged obstacles. Track Weather and Tides: The app provides real-time weather forecasts, including wind speed, precipitation, and wave height information. Stay updated on changing conditions to ensure your safety. Navionics® Boating also offers tide charts for coastal areas, helping you plan your trips around high and low tides. Add Points of Interest: Navionics® Boating allows you to mark points of interest (POIs), such as marinas, fuel docks, restaurants, or fishing spots. You can also save locations for easy access later, so you can revisit your favorite places on the water. Track Your Performance: Use the app to track your speed, distance, and time during each trip. This feature is especially useful for fishing trips or longer journeys where you need to monitor progress. The app records your route history, which can be reviewed later for insights or shared with others. Share Your Trip and Data: You can share your routes, trip data, or location with others, such as friends or family, via the app. This is especially helpful if you're on a group boating trip.
